Review: Buz Pop THC Soda (Prebiotic)

Buz Pop THC Soda
My dirty secret is that I never knew what the hell “prebiotic” meant until a minute ago. Mostly because I didn’t care, but also I’m deeply suspicious of these health fads that constantly bombard us, only to disappear a couple years later after being conclusively proven to be worthless. Having said that, I approached my review of Buz Pop Prebiotic THC Soda (Is it pop? Is it soda? Is there a difference?) with all due impartiality and professionalism.

Test 1 (10 mg)

Buz Pop THC Soda only comes in cans with 10 mg of THC. Not being the type to sit on a patio and drink three or four 5 mg THC beverages at a time, I prefer to get the ritual part of that exercise out of the way by just glugging 10 mg all at once.

I procured my usual rotisserie chicken, in my experience an excellent carrier of THC molecules through the blood stream, to ensure ideal testing conditions. It took me about 25 minutes to polish off the can and the first tingle hit me about 10 minutes after that, so no complaints about onset time. I slowly crawled to peak buzz, reaching it at about the 1.5-hour mark, which is about average.

Unfortunately, the 10 mg of THC in the Buz Pop THC Soda had the same punch as a typical 5 mg edible. I’ve run into problems with weak performing THC drinks before and have still not figured out how to give them a fair shake with my scoring system below, other than to just grade them on a curve. That said, previous 10 mg THC drinks have definitely hit harder than the Buz Pop, so this may just be a simple matter of substandard performance.

This was especially disappointing, because the Concord Grape flavor paired surprisingly well with the chicken. Unlike THC seltzers, sodas tend to be flavor forward, which I particularly appreciate with any purple beverage.

The straight dope on Buz Pop THC Soda

It’s delicious, but the subpar buzz I got under ideal testing conditions was disappointing. The upside is that this drink is priced for people who might down two or three in an evening.
